It's very nice to have a working window on the upper floor of the hotel. We've had a little trouble convincing the loo to flush properly, and the, ahem, ventilation is much appreciated. Edinburgh is surprisingly quiet at night, apparent while sleeping with the window open.
It did take us more than the expected number of minutes to figure out how to open it. There are latches at each side, about two-thirds way up, and we expected it to tilt in or out from the top or bottom. Instead, it swivels around the center, and requires coordinated pushing and pulling from the appropriate sides to open. I love the small differences in the common things of life, so that provided a few minutes entertainment, frustrating though it was.
