I got a new cello a couple years ago, and while it's a wonderful instrument, it's a strange student-cello-shiny orangey color. Very odd, especially when many better luthiers these days go for a more mellow, antiqued look. But I loved playing it so much I got over the color...
Cellos sure are all different, aren't they? I think that's part of the appeal.

I still wish it were a brunette, though.
