Tummy target

GiGi is presenting Seri with a nice broad expanse of white as a target in their wrestling matches these days. Every time I see her I tease her that she looks like she swallowed a toad. I should probably stop that before I give her a complex.

It's Tummy Tuesday. To see more of the (feline) sunny-side-up variety, visit LisaViolet.

I used to kid my friend A-'s cat Marabou about her girlish figure (or lack of). Maybe that's why Marabou hisses at me everytime I see her...

what can you tell us about coming back to practice after an injury?

Thanks for stopping by, PJ and David. I suspect you're right, David. Cats can be very sensitive. You need to think of a way to get back in Marabou's good graces.

That's a huge question you've bitten off there, Anonymous, because of the number of potential variables. The very general answer is that you need to have reached a stage of healing adequate to permit activity with low risk of repeating the injury, then proceed slowly. That means short practice times, intelligent choice of activities, and sometimes modification of the way you do things, especially if "the way you do things" contributed to the injury. It can really help to have a knowledgeable coach, either a teacher or a therapist, to guide you through the process - sometimes musicians don't make the right choices, just because we have such a strong drive to play!
