OK, one picture of the castle. In Edinburgh this is referred to in shorthand as "the Palace" in order to differentiate it from Edinburgh Castle, "the Castle." This is the oldest corner, the home of Mary, Queen of Scots when she stayed in Edinburgh. The ruins of the Abbey are to the left in this photo.

Mary Queen of Scots-- Oh yeah, Braveheart. I'm realizing that everything I know about Scotland comes from Braveheart. Maybe if I study more carefully I can say everything I know about Scotland comes from Braveheart or GGP's blog.
